How fast will I feel better?⌄
Most guests feel the nausea lift during the drip and are noticeably better 2–4 hours after. Full recovery of appetite and energy usually takes 1–2 days.
Do I really need an IV, or can I just drink water?⌄
If you can keep fluids down and have no fever, oral rehydration is fine. If you are vomiting, dizzy, or have not urinated for many hours, the IV is the fastest safe way to rehydrate.
Do I need antibiotics?⌄
Not usually. Most Bali Belly is viral or toxin-related and clears on its own once you are rehydrated. The doctor prescribes antibiotics only for signs of bacterial infection such as high fever or blood in the stool.
Can you treat children?⌄
Yes. Children dehydrate quickly, so we prioritise them. Dosing and fluids are adjusted for age and weight.
I fly tomorrow — can I still travel?⌄
Usually yes after treatment. We give you oral anti-nausea and anti-diarrhea medication for the flight and a medical certificate if you need to change your booking.
What should I eat and drink afterwards?⌄
Water, oral rehydration salts, coconut water, plain rice, toast, bananas. Avoid alcohol, coffee, dairy and spicy food for 48 hours.
