Bali is a rabies-endemic island. Once symptoms start, rabies is almost always fatal but vaccination started quickly is highly effective. Our doctor comes to you with wound care and the vaccine, day or night.
Four steps. The first one you can do yourself, immediately.
Running water and soap, right away. This alone greatly reduces the virus load. Don't close or bandage it tightly.
Send a photo of the wound, what animal, and your location. We assess the exposure category and reply in minutes.
Wound cleaning, antiseptic, tetanus check if needed, and your first rabies vaccine dose — at your hotel or villa.
We schedule the remaining doses around your travel plans and give you a vaccination record to continue anywhere.
Based on WHO exposure categories. When in doubt, message us — the assessment is free over WhatsApp.
No vaccine needed. Wash the area. Watch the animal if possible.
Wash immediately + start the vaccine course. Very common with Uluwatu and Ubud monkeys.
Wash + vaccine + rabies immunoglobulin (RIG) into the wound. Start the same day — message us now.
Post-exposure vaccination is a short course of doses over 1–4 weeks. We give the first dose at your hotel and plan the rest with you. If you fly home before finishing, you receive a written vaccination record so any clinic abroad can continue the course.
Schedules follow WHO post-exposure prophylaxis guidance; the exact regimen is decided by the doctor after assessing the wound and your vaccination history.

"Doctor and nurse visited our son at our resort. Treatment and medication all on the spot, in the comfort of his bed. Followed up the next day. Excellent care."
"Doctor came to our hotel room right after I contacted him. After treatment we could walk around again. Thank you."
"Amazingly after the procedure I felt a lot better. Thank you doc — you saved my time for holiday."
As soon as possible — ideally within 24 hours. Wash the wound for 15 minutes first. Even if a day or two has passed, still start the course: vaccination remains effective until symptoms appear, and once they appear it is too late.
If the skin is broken at all, yes (WHO category II). Monkey scratches at Uluwatu and Ubud are one of the most common reasons travellers need the vaccine. Send us a photo and we'll tell you.
Rabies immunoglobulin gives immediate antibodies while the vaccine takes effect. It is recommended for category III exposures (bites that break the skin, wounds on the head/neck/hands, saliva in eyes or mouth) in people not previously vaccinated. The doctor decides after seeing the wound.
Yes — you still need booster doses after an exposure (usually 2 doses), but no RIG. Bring your vaccination record so we can confirm.
Yes. We give you a written record of the vaccine brand, dates and doses so any clinic at home can continue the schedule. Don't delay the first dose because of travel plans.
Most travel policies cover post-exposure rabies treatment as emergency care. We provide an itemised receipt and medical certificate for your claim. Cash and card accepted.
Usually mild: a sore arm, mild headache or tiredness for a day. Serious reactions are rare. The risk of rabies is far greater than the risk of the vaccine.
Send us a photo of the wound now — a doctor can be at your hotel within the hour.
